Transitional Life Skills

The Transitional Living Skills Program (TLS) is designed to prepare people with disabilities to live as independently as possible in their community. TLS provides opportunities for clients with significant disabilities to develop skills necessary to function successfully as a viable part of the community. To further simulate community living, clients will participate in a Transitional Living Skill Facility Association and will work with Transitional Living Skills Staff to develop and enforce procedures for residing in the apartments.
Transitional Life Skills Training Curriculum includes hands on instruction in the following areas:

Home Management (Cooking, Cleaning, etc...)
• Money Management
• Personal Health Maintenance
• Locating Suitable Housing
• Transportation
• Managing Self Care and Daily Living Skills
• Civil Rights and Advocacy
