Tennessee Technology access program

The Tennessee Technology access program (TTAP) is a statewide program designed to increase access to, and acquisition of, assistive technology devices and services. Through it’s four core programs: Alternative Financing, Device Demonstration, Device Loan and Device Reutilization, TTAP and a network of five assistive technology centers help people with disabilities and their families find and get the tools that they need to live independent, productive lives where and how they choose.

Each of TTAP’s core programs is uniquely designed to both maximize limited resources and improve the understanding of, and to gain better access to, assistive technology devices and services. Below is a brief description of each and a little more about how it may help you, a family member or those that you serve:

  • Alternative Financing
  • Device Demonstration
  • Device Loan
    • Sometimes people simply need to borrow a device when trying to determine which device works best for them. That's where the TTAP Device Loan Program can help. Each of our five assistive technology centers has devices available for loan. These long or short-term loans are designed to increase the access to assistive technology so that people with disabilities have an opportunity to see whether a specific device will meet their needs before making a purchasing decision or as a short term replacement device while their device is being ordered or repaired.

  • Device Reutilization

TTAP provides funding to five regional assistive technology centers across Tennessee. The centers provide training, evaluation, minority outreach and advocacy services. The staff at each of the centers works closely with businesses, school systems, vocational rehabilitation and the medical community to increase the independence and productivity of persons with disabilities through the use of assistive technology devices and services.
