EMPLOYEE TO GET OUTSTANDING OLDER WORKER NASHVILLE - 90-year-old Flossie Tate will receive the Experience Works Tennessee Outstanding Older Worker of the Year award, Wednesday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m. (CST) at the Old Supreme Court Office in the Tennessee State Capitol building. Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley will also present Flossie with Governor Phil Bredesen's Outstanding Tennessean Award. Flossie has worked for the Department of Labor & Workforce Development as a clerk for 25 years. Prior to her service with the state, Flossie worked for 35 years as a machinist where she got the popular nickname, "Rosie the Riveter," at the old Vultee plant, now named AVCO Aerostructures. She helped to build C-130 aircraft during World War II.
