Description

This course will provide officers with the advanced skills needed to survive lethal force encounters in both lighted and low light situations.  Students will be provided with methods to increase speed, accuracy and weapons manipulations skills while employing their duty weapons.

 

Training Objectives:

 

  • Identify the four firearms safety rules and how they apply on both the streets and the range.
  • Identify human factors that influence weapon manipulation skills when facing a lethal force encounter.
  • Demonstrate the ability to obtain effective accuracy with a handgun out to 25 yards.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage threats at a rapid pace while using threat focused shooting techniques.
  • Effectively engage threats from alternative shooting positions.
  • Effectively engage threats while shooting on the move.
  • Demonstrate the ability to properly utilize both weapons mounted and hand held lights in low light environment.

$150 - County & Local Officers

$180 - State Officers

Prerequisites

none

 

Materials

Participants must bring the following: 

 

  • Eye and ear protection
  • Assigned duty gear (minimum holster and two magazine pouches)
  • Issued duty sidearm
  • Issued AR type patrol rifle
  • 800 rounds pistol ammunition
  • 400 rounds rifle ammunition
