Assessment and Treatment

The good news for persons with alcohol and drug abuse and addiction problems in Tennessee is:

  • There are quality alcohol and drug abuse and addiction treatment services available.
  • Division contracted treatment services are available regardless of ability to pay.
  • Treatment works!

If you or someone you care for has an alcohol or drug problem, the first step is to locate professional addiction treatment specialists who can assess the level of problem severity, and based on this assessment, make referrals to the appropriate level of care for treatment to begin.

There are a number of ways to locate professional addiction treatment specialists in Tennessee as follows:

  • at the Tennessee Redline, which offers information and referrals 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling

    1-800-889-9789

  • at the Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, which offers information and referrals during normal business hours, by calling 615-741-1921.

Help is available! The resources listed on this page can help in making that first step towards recovery from addiction.
