The Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, of the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, serves as the single state authority for receiving and administering federal block grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. State funding for alcohol and drug abuse services is also administered by the Division.

The Division’s mission is to reduce substance abuse, substance abuseby promoting prevention and by reducing high risk behaviors through community programs and activities, and to ensure that treatment services are available for all individuals in need. The vision of the Division is,

children are safe".
