Systems and Databases

Finance and Systems supports computer information systems as follows:

  • Alcohol and Drug Management Information System (ADMIS) PC is an Access-based, front-end data entry system utilized by the State-contracted substance abuse services providers and the central office to facilitate client data collection. Reporting utilities enable users expanded management capabilities on their client information.
  • ADMIS-Insight is the client/server package which supports the client data submission from the State-contracted substance abuse service providers. This package also produces the state’s submission to the national Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS).
  • ADMIS-Financial is an Access-based, financial processing and reporting system utilized by the State to generate reports for contracted substance abuse service providers and the central office. Financial reports detail unit-rate reimbursement earnings and utilization percentages for cost reimbursement programs.

  • Tennessee Access to Recovery Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services
(TN ATR_WITS) is a web-based system that allows the Division and its providers to administer, manage, report, archive and share substance abuse treatment services data that is HIPPA compliant and meet current and emerging reporting requirements.

Finance and Systems supports databases as follows:

  • ADMIS Client Database is a confidential database of all clients receiving services which are reimbursed through state/federal funds at Division-contracted substance abuse providers. Client data collected includes registration/demographic, admission, encounter, and discharge information.
  • Drug and Alcohol Information system DASIS (DASIS) is a national database supported by SAMHSA and is comprised of the following:
  • The Inventory of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (I-SATS) which is a master list of all treatment programs known to SAMHSA .
  • The National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) which is a periodic survey of the providers on I-SATS and includes information on the treatment and client characteristics at the facility level.
  • The Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) which is a national minimum data set of non-identifying information about individuals admitted and discharged from treatment facilities.

Descriptive and analytic reports are developed from these databases to provide national and state level information on the number and types of clients served and the characteristics of treatment facilities. Requests for client data reports should be directed to Finance and Systems.
