The Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities is currently seeking applicants for the position of MH/MR Program Director of Planning in the Division of Recovery Services and Planning. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of responsibilities prescribed in Title 33, including planning services and supports to meet the public’s need for mental health and developmental disability services based on an annual needs assessment and development of a three-year plan and mental health block grant oversight. This position will also direct, supervise, and mange staff support to three levels of councils. In addition, candidates must also have a working knowledge of grant writing, supervision experience, and excellent writing and public speaking skills. A master’s degree in a health, social services, public policy or public administration discipline is preferred but not required. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply. Smooth operation and oversight of multi-layered planning efforts as well as leadership and oversight of the annual application for the mental health block grant and related reports.
