    MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM SPECIALIST 3  

    The Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities is currently seeking applicants for the position of Mental Health Program Specialist 3 in the Division of Recovery Services and Planning.

    The position would manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Real Choice Systems grant. The position will coordinate the implementation of grant activities including the training of consumer peer specialists to teach Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) classes, the training of practitioner to teach the evidence-based practice of Illness Management and Recovery classes, establishing a comprehensive community based resource directory, and the development of assessment tools to assess the consumer’s support system and the caregiver’s strengths, resources, and needs. The position will work with the grant’s Principle Investigator to ensure that all federal reports and updates are completed in a timely manner. This position will also coordinate the development and implementation of an evaluation instrument to measure the success of the grant. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.

    Requirements
    Applicants must have a minimum of five years of full time increasingly responsible professional mental health or staff work and experience in working with persons diagnosed with mental illness. TDMHDD certification as a Peer Support Specialist is required. A Master’s Degree in social services or a related behavioral or social science is preferable. Exemplary writing and communication skills are required.
