Eligibility

TennCare Partners Eligibility:

To be eligible for services under the TennCare Partners Program, a person
must meet one of the following:

  1. Eligible for full TennCare or Medicaid – Be eligible for TennCare or Medicaid
    as determined by the Department of Human Services

  1. More information is available on the TennCare web site:

OR

  1. Eligible for Mental Health Benefits Only (State-Only) – If not currently eligible for TennCare AND meets the following:
  1. Been determined ineligible for TennCare or have a pending TennCare application; and
  2. Not be a prior TennCare enrollee terminated from coverage as a part of TennCare Reform with access to safety net services; and
  3. Not have access to private health insurance; and
  4. Not have Medicare coverage; and
  5. Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal resident Alien; and
  6. Be a resident of Tennessee; and
  7. Have been identified as SPMI/SED (CRG = 1, 2, or 3; TPG = 2); and
  8. Have family income no greater than 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL); and
  9. Must not be an inmate.

To qualify for this category a person should go to their local Community
Mental Health Agency who can assist them.

  1. Eligible for Mental Health Benefits to cover involuntary commitments,
    evaluations and services at a Regional Mental Health Institute or an
    approved psychiatric facility (Judicial) – If not currently eligible for TennCare
    and meets the following:
  1. Have been involuntarily committed for evaluation and treatment, as documented
    by either two Certificates of Needs or a court order
