Office of Consumer Affairs

The Office of Consumer Affairs plays a crucial role for service recipients and consumers throughout all facets of the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities (DMHDD).

OCA is responsible for:

  • Promoting the interests of service recipients.
  • Providing direct assistance to recipients through its Ombudsman program.
  • Providing the tools for consumers to advocate for themselves (the OCA staff routinely conduct training and promote self-help programs).
