Legislation

The Division of Policy and Legislation oversees and coordinates TDMHDD legislative responsibilities, including:

• An annual assessment of need for any change to existing law;
• Review and analysis of bills' direct or indirect impact on individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities and TDMHDD;
• A weekly update of tracked legislation;
• Attendance at pertinent legislative committee meetings and floor sessions;
• Lobbying administration legislation, and
• Developing response to legislative inquiries.

OLC maintains the current unofficial compilation of TDMHDD law here on the TDMHDD web site and incorporates amendments annually. DPL also coordinates development and revision of forms required by MHDD law for inclusion on the TDMHDD website as well as an annual summary of legislation of interest to TDMHDD.
