Office of Research

The Office of Research engages in research and evaluation activities and is responsible for:

  • Researching policy and program issues
  • Assisting program directors in the evaluation of program effectiveness
  • Providing data and analysis for decision support on mental health and substance abuse policy issues
  • Overseeing designated federal grants including but not limited to the Data Infrastructure Grant
  • Facilitating the development of best practice guidelines for a variety of populations
  • Facilitating the creation of departmental standards in various domains such as adult mental health case management and crisis services
  • Contributing to the protection and welfare of mental health consumers that participate in research by and/or for the department through the Institutional Review Board (IRB)
