Interdisciplinary Leadership Training Set At UT, Memphis

The Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities at UT, Memphis has scheduled an interdisciplinary leadership training series to present state-of-the-art models for interdisciplinary practice.

Topics address quality of life issues across the life span for persons with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities, children with special health care needs, and their families.

Sessions focus on current and future directions in family-centered prevention and intervention approached for diverse populations and address collaboration at local, state, and national levels.

Providers Needed For Physical/Nutritional Management Supports

People with developmental disabilities moving into the community need physical and nutritional management support services.

Such supports are provided through occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists and dietitians.

The need for these supports is great and interested providers should contact the following persons:

Ask yourself the following...

  • Would you like to positively impact the quality of life of persons with mental retardation and other disabilities that live in state-funded community residential sights in Tennessee?
  • Do you like to make new friends who look forward to seeing you each time you visit?
  • Can you contribute a few hours a month to a worthwhile cause?

If you answered "Yes" to any of the above questions, you will want to learn more about the Family and Community Partnership project of the Arc of Tennessee.

Nurse IV Position Available in Nashville

A Nurse IV position has been approved for the Division of Mental Retardation Services Central Office to coordinate and monitor/track medication administration training for unlicensed personnel. This nursing training coordinator will also be responsible for developing, training, tracking and monitoring health-related curricula and assisting the Central Office Health Services Coordinator.
