DMHDD and Federal Home Loan Bank
Partner to Create and Expand Homes

Commissioner Rukeyser and Bank Senior Vice President Carol Peterson at the signing.Friday, January 25, 2002 marked another success for the DMHDD. As a result of the outreach of the Office of Housing Planning and Development (OHPD), the DMHDD signed a partnership resolution with the federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati to create and expand affordable housing options for persons with mental illness in Tennessee.

Elisabeth Rukeyser, DMHDD commissioner, signed the formal document in a ceremony attended by Carol Peterson, senior vice president of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati.

Being that both parties have a mission to provide housing and community assistance programs for persons with mental illness, it was decided to undertake the mission together.

Both parties agreed that their combined efforts and resources would enable the growth of much-needed housing opportunities and enable a more viable life for those living in them.

As the year progresses, further steps will be initiated toward fulfillment of the goals.
