The Office of Planning coordinates TDMH planning activities and responsibilities, including the development of:
- TDMH Three Year Plan, required by Title 33, Tennessee Code Annotated;
- Annual Strategic Plan, required by Part 56, Chapter 4, Title 9, TCA,
- 2011 Joint Annual Report
- 2010 Mental Health Block Grant Implementation Report
- 2012BlockGrant.pdf" 2012 Community Mental Health Services Block Grant Application and State Plan*

The Planning Office coordinates the annual assessment of the public's need for mental health / substance abuse services and supports required by TDMH law.
Staff provides support and coordination of:
- TDMH Planning and Policy Council
- TDMH Regional Planning and Policy Councils
