Does a determination of specialized services mean an individual can never enter a nursing home?
No. If an individual receives the necessary treatment he can be Reevaluated for admission.

How can I obtain specialized services for the applicant if needed?
Along with nursing homes, the Dept of TennCare /Long Unit Term Care Unit and the Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities can aide in finding resources which offer the needed services.

If the applicant does not need specialized services is he/she approved for nursing home placement?

Final approval for nursing home placement can only come from the Department of TennCare after a PASRR Level II determination is made.
