    Web Site Smoothes Eligibility and Application Process for Assistance Programs

    NASHVILLE — Governor Phil Bredesen today unveiled FindHelpTN, a Web-based eligibility screening tool designed to connect Tennesseans with social service programs and resources.
     
    “Anyone who has tried to help someone find or apply for social service programs knows how challenging the process can be,” Governor Bredesen said. “FindHelpTN provides case workers, advocates, clergy or family members and individuals themselves with access to a single source of information to identify programs for which someone may qualify.”

    NASHVILLE – As the nation observes Cover the Uninsured Week, the programs of Cover Tennessee continue to offer practical and affordable solutions to Tennessee’s uninsured.

    “Because of Cover Tennessee, every week is Cover the Uninsured Week for us,” said Governor Phil Bredesen, who created the family of health coverage programs with the support of the General Assembly in 2007. “This national observance provides a great opportunity for us to continue to spread the word about these programs and get more coverage to uninsured Tennesseans.”

  • Cover Tennessee Launches Faith-Based Initiative

    MEMPHIS – Cover Tennessee kicked off a new faith-based outreach initiative Tuesday in Memphis with members of the Memphis Baptist Ministerial Association. More than 125 ministers from the Memphis area attended an information session about the state’s health care program for the uninsured.

    NASHVILLEGovernor Phil Bredesen announced today that there will be no rate increase in CoverTN premiums in 2009 and the number of primary care physician visits will be doubled.
     
    “Keeping premiums low while providing access to quality health benefits for our CoverTN enrollees is incredibly important, especially during these tough economic times," Bredesen said. “The hallmark of this program is its affordability and I’m very pleased we’ve been able to maintain that while adding important benefits.”

  • CoverTN Opens New Eligibility Category in Program Expansion

    NASHVILLE — Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that CoverTN, Tennessee’s health insurance program for small businesses, individuals and the self-employed, will now offer health insurance to Tennesseans who are between jobs. The new eligibility category was proposed by Bredesen earlier this year and passed by the General Assembly in May.
