    NASHVILLE –First Lady Crissy Haslam joined Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee in the planting of a pinwheel garden at the Capitol today to help launch Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Pinwheels have become a focal point of the annual awareness campaign, which is held in April of each year.

    NASHVILLE – First Lady Crissy Haslam read to hundreds of students at two middle Tennessee schools as part of Read Across America.  Mrs. Haslam made her first stop at Hillsboro School where she read to 300 students in Kindergarten to fifth grade.  After sharing some popular children’s books at Hillsboro School, the First Lady traveled to Gladeville Elementary to sit down with nearly 90 second graders for story time.

    NASHVILLE – First Lady Crissy Haslam along with Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder handed out blankets and pillows to veteran patients at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System.  The 33rd Annual National Salute to Veteran Patients expands Valentine’s Day to allow volunteers, celebrities and civic leaders an opportunity to get to know the veterans being cared for at hospitals across the country.
