As a driver license examiner, the employee will be responsible for routine driver's license examination work, which includes administering vision, written and road test to applicants, the determination of applicant qualifications, and the collection and processing of driver's license application fees.
Pass a background clearance investigation. Have not been convicted of or found not guilty by reason of insanity of the criminal offenses outlined in federal regulation 49 CFR 1572.103.
High school diploma or GED equivalent; qualifying driver license examining or other acceptable public contact work may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
A valid vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions; those positions require operating motor vehicles having standard equipment; applicants must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician.
All applicants must take a written examination administered by the Department of Personnel. The test consists of seventy-five (75) multiple choice questions.
