Captain Robert Bighem
Captain Robert Bighem joined the Tennessee Highway Patrol in 1988, and was assigned to Williamson County, Tennessee. In 1992, he was assigned to Capitol Detail for one year before being assigned to Wilson County in 1993. In 1997, Captain Bighem was assigned to the Training Staff, where he remains today teaching incoming Tennessee Highway Patrol Cadets at the Tennessee Highway Patrol Training Center.
Captain Bighem has worn many hats throughout his career while moving up the ranks in the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Captain Bighem has served as a Highway Incident Management instructor, riot control instructor, TIMS (Traffic Incident Management) instructor, stinger stop stick instructor, ground defense instructor, crash reconstructionist, verbal judo instructor, pressure point control tactics instructor, and emergency vehicle operations instructor among.
Captain Bighem is a graduate of University of Tennessee at Martin. He enjoys weightlifting, running and computers as hobbies.
