Fentress County Driver Service Center Closure Advisory

Effective June 30, 2009, the Jamestown Driver License Service Center located 641 South Main Street in Fentress County will no longer be providing Driver License services.  Other nearby full-service Driver License Service Centers to serve you are the Putnam County Driver License Service Center located at 4600 S. Jefferson Avenue, Cookeville and the Cumberland County Driver License Service Center located at 31 Daniel Drive, Suite 101, Crossville.  

The Putnam County Driver Service Center is open Monday-Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm. The Cumberland County Driver Service Center is open Tuesday-Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm.

Customers only needing a duplicate or renewal of a Non-Commercial Driver License can visit the nearby Morgan County Clerk's Office, located  415 S. Kingston St. Wartburg. It is open  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm and Wednesday & Saturday 8:00am to Noon.

An additonal nearby location for customers to obtain a duplicate and renewal of a Non-Commercial Driver License is the nearby Scott County Clerk’s Office located at 283 Court Street Huntsville, TN 37756. These services are available on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 11:00am and 11:30am to 4:00pm.

Independence Day Holiday Closure Advisory

In observance of the Independence Day Holiday, the Department of Safety Driver Service Centers will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2009.

Our Driver Service Centers will typically have an increased volume of customers when we reopen after being closed for a holiday, so please plan your visit accordingly. Some Driver Service Centers are normally closed on Monday and Friday. Information on our Driver Service Centers' days and hours of operation is available online. You may also wish to see if you are eligible to renew your driver license online.

Using diversified program offerings, the Division is able to provide various services to Tennessee Citizens. The Driver Services Division is responsible for testing and issuing driver licenses as well as offering voter registration and issuance of driving records.
