The Professional Standards Bureau consists of the following units:

Office of Professional Responsibility Unit

The Office of Professional Responsibility Unit investigates all allegations of misconduct on the part of Department of Safety employees. Any individual who feels they have not been treated impartially by any employee of the department, or is aware of any inappropriate action or inappropriate conduct of an employee, should contact a supervisor at the nearest Department of Safety office or the Professional Standards Bureau, Office of Professional Responsibility Unit, at (615) 251-5228, (877) 459-3038, or by e-mail at OPR.unit@state.tn.us.

Staff Inspection Unit

The Staff Inspection Unit conducts inspections of all organizational components within the department, ensuring compliance with National Accreditation Standards and Departmental policies and procedures. The Staff Inspection Unit can be contacted by calling (615) 687-2406.
