AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-303, relative to the lease of land to fraternities and sororities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-303(a), is amended by adding the words "or the State Board of Regents" after the words "State Board of Education" in the first sentence.

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-303(a), is further amended in the second sentence by deleting the words "state board" and substituting the words "state governing board" and by adding after the words "the chair" the words "or chancellor".

SECTION 3. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-303(a), is further amended in the third sentence by adding after the word "subleased" the words "without the prior written consent of the board or its designee".

SECTION 4. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-303(a), is further amended in the fourth and fifth sentences by deleting the words "state board" and substituting the words "state governing board or its designee".

SECTION 5. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-303(a), is further amended in the sixth sentence by deleting the words and figures "state board in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, compiled in title 4, chapter 5" and substituting the words "state governing board".

SECTION 6. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1-303(a), is further amended by deleting the last sentence of the subsection.

SECTION 7. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
