AN ACT To amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Chapter 29 and Title 49, Chapter 5, relative to the state certification commission.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-29-219(a), is amended by deleting item (18) in its entirety.

SECTION 2. (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 4-29-112, or any other law to the contrary, the state certification commission, created by Section 49-5-5101, shall terminate and shall cease all activities upon the effective date of this act.

(b) Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, Chapter 5, is amended by deleting Part 51 in its entirety.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1998, the public welfare requiring it.
