TBI, Clay County Investigators Arrest, Charge Hilham Man After Discovery of Body

COOKEVILLE – Working alongside investigators from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, TBI Special Agents have arrested a Hilham man accused of killing a woman and burying her body in a shallow grave near their home.

On Wednesday evening, at the request of 13th District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, TBI Special Agents joined the investigation into the discovery of a body in a shallow grave in a wooded area in the 200 block of Logan Spears Road in the Hilham community of Clay County. During the course of the investigation, authorities developed information leading to Edward Walsh as the individual responsible for the crime. The work to identify the remains was ongoing at the time of this release.

Early this morning, authorities arrested Walsh and charged him with one count of Second Degree Murder. At the time of this release, the 55-year-old was being held in the Clay County Jail.
