SUBJECT: THE FILING OF IRS FORM 990
(FEDERAL ORGANIZATION RETURN) ON BEHALF OF STATE-CHARTERED CREDIT UNIONS
DATE: JUNE 5, 1992
As you know, the Department of Financial Institutions has for a number of years
filed IRS Form 990 on behalf of state-chartered credit unions. However,
effective immediately, it is now the policy of this department to no longer
prepare or assist in the preparation of IRS Form 990. Therefore, state-chartered
credit unions will be responsible for ensuring that Form 990 is properly filed
in the future.
