Drivers should expect delays

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will be making repairs to the McClure Bridge on State Route 13 in Clarksville for several weekends in August, which will require bridge traffic to be reduced to one lane, controlled by a temporary traffic signal. The first in the series of weekend work will begin Friday, August 4, at 8 p.m. and continue until Monday, August 7, at 5 a.m.

Additional work is scheduled for the weekends of August 11 and August 25. Work is weather dependent. Motorists can check message boards around the area for the most up-to-date closure information.  During the weekend lane closures, drivers should expect delays and plan ahead.

The $275,988 repair project was awarded to Concrete Structures, Inc., and includes replacing the bridge end joint at the north end of the structure, along with resurfacing the total length of the bridge.

In 2016, the Tennessee Department of Transportation lost three workers in the line of duty. All three were struck by passing motorists. Those tragedies bring the total number of TDOT lives lost to 112. We don’t want to lose another member of our TDOT family. We’re asking you to WORK WITH US.
