Executive Orders

While the Ethics Commission has the authority to enforce ethics statutes, the Governor has the authority to issue Executive Orders placing additional responsibilities on executive branch employees.  Gov. Lee has signed Executive Order No. 2, “An Order Concerning Ethics Policies  Applicable to, and Ethics Disclosures Required of, Executive Branch Employees”, which places additional prohibitions and filing responsibilities on certain executive branch employees.

While Executive Orders are not enforced by the Ethics Commission, Executive Orders should be read by all executive branch employees.  Questions concerning Executive Orders should be addressed to the Governor’s Chief Ethics Officer.
