STATEMENT FROM DARIN GORDON, TENNCARE DIRECTOR,
REGARDING TENNCARE WAIVER STATUS WITH FEDS

 

"The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a fourth temporary extension on our TennCare waiver. The latest extension expires September 14, 2007. We remain committed to diligently working with CMS to resolve the outstanding financial negotiation points with the goal of achieving a fair and equitable contract for our state’s Medicaid program."

 

TennCare is Tennessee’s expanded Medicaid program, providing health insurance coverage to 1.2 million Tennesseans, including 640,000 children. For more information about TennCare, visit www.tennessee.gov/tenncare
