Satisfaction
Surveys . . .
As
part of the Performance Funding program, colleges
and universities use different groups to gauge satisfaction
regarding their educational experience. The results
gained from these surveys will allow institutions
to have a better understanding of internal and external
perceptions of their various clientele groups. Institutions
can earn up to 10 points for successful performance
based on these surveys. Colleges and universities
utilize these results in their planning to improve
academic programs and students services that will
ultimately impact the movement of students to alumni
to productive members of the State’s workforce.
The
Enrolled Student Survey is administered
during the first and fourth years of the 2000-05 performance
funding cycle. Institutions administer the survey
to a representative sample of their undergraduate
student population. Two versions of the survey are
available – one for universities and one for
two-year institutions. Both versions explore the perceptions
of enrolled students regarding the programs, services
and educational environment of the institution.
In
the second and fifth years of the performance funding
cycle, institutions administer an Alumni Survey
to all alumni who graduated two years before the survey
is conducted. Just like the Enrolled Student Survey,
two versions of the Alumni Survey are also available.
The Alumni Survey gauges alumni perceptions of their
college experience, provides information on employment
history, and helps to assess the impact of educational
programs and experiences from the perspective of recent
alumni.
The
Employer
Survey is administered during the third
year of the 2000-05 performance funding cycle. Colleges
and universities received flexibility in the design
and sampling plan for the Employer Survey in order
to assess the needs and opinions of regional employers.
Institutions utilized various techniques and targeted
specific employers to assess employers’ perceptions
of their alumni.
