Important Information to Know About Transferring

  1. When selecting courses each semester for your major, always seek the advice of your academic advisor at your institution.
  2. Work closely with the Transfer and Articulation Coordinator on your campus if you intend to transfer to complete a baccalaureate degree. (Link to list of campus Transfer and Articulation Coordinators).
  3. To transfer as a junior, you need to follow the transfer module for the University Track Program, completing a minimum of 60 semester credits. (Link to the Transfer and Articulation Module).
  4. Make sure that the institution to which you intend to transfer offers your major.
  5. If you change your major when you transfer, you will likely have to take additional course requirements for the new major.
  6. Generally, at least a grade of “C” is the minimum requirement to transfer courses.
  7. Remember, the admission process is competitive and the associate degree or academic major does not guarantee admission to the university of your choice.
  8. If situations occur that are not resolved to your satisfaction, each campus has a structured appeals process to address transfer and articulation issues. This information can be provided by the Transfer and Articulation Coordinator or consult the college catalog.
  9. As a student, you are responsible for working with your academic advisor and Transfer and Articulation Coordinators. To enhance your ability to have a problem-free experience, read catalogs and familiarize yourself with the module and the requirements for the institution to which you intend to transfer.
