Important Information to Know About Transferring
- When
selecting courses each semester for your major, always
seek the advice of your academic advisor at your institution.
- Work
closely with the Transfer and Articulation Coordinator
on your campus if you intend to transfer to complete a
baccalaureate degree. (Link
to list of campus Transfer and Articulation Coordinators).
- To
transfer as a junior, you need to follow the transfer
module for the University Track Program, completing a
minimum of 60 semester credits. (Link
to the Transfer and Articulation Module).
- Make
sure that the institution to which you intend to transfer
offers your major.
- If
you change your major when you transfer, you will likely
have to take additional course requirements for the new
major.
- Generally,
at least a grade of C is the minimum requirement
to transfer courses.
- Remember,
the admission process is competitive and the associate
degree or academic major does not guarantee admission
to the university of your choice.
- If
situations occur that are not resolved to your satisfaction,
each campus has a structured appeals process to address
transfer and articulation issues. This information can
be provided by the Transfer and Articulation Coordinator
or consult the college catalog.
- As
a student, you are responsible for working with your academic
advisor and Transfer and Articulation Coordinators. To
enhance your ability to have a problem-free experience,
read catalogs and familiarize yourself with the module
and the requirements for the institution to which you
intend to transfer.
