Joint
Report . . .
Quality
education is important to the lives of Tennessee citizens
as well as the social and economic success of the
state. Accomplishing Tennessee's education goals involves
strong partnerships at all levels. The Joint Report
provides an opportunity for the State Board of Education
and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to assess
their joint efforts, provide an overview of the challenges
and prospects for public education, and present a
statement on the improvement, plans, and goals for
the future.
As
Tennessee works toward accomplishing its educational
goals for the 21st century, focusing on excellence
and transition of students at all education levels
is critical. The joint priorities and initiatives
focus on points of connection between pre-kindergarten
through grade 12 (P-12) and higher education that
are essential to a unified system of education in
the state.
