Off-Campus Location . . .

  • Pursuant to Public Chapter 896, THEC was authorized to evaluate and approve any new off-site administrative or academic site where courses will be offered for credit.
  • Approval from the Commission must be obtained before an institution is able to begin course offerings. Institutions may enter into planning/development prior to the receipt of THEC approval, but they may not enroll students without formal approval.
  • Institutions must provide documentation regarding estimated enrollment; costs associated with leasing agreements, square footage, and tuition generated utilities, instruction, faculty salaries and auxiliaries.
  • The proposal must include descriptions of the target population, demonstrated need, documented community support, and the direct benefits to the local community derived from the proposed site.
  • The proposed site must also adhere to the role and scope of the institution as set forth in its approved mission.
