The Academic Affairs Division is responsible for reviewing new academic programs for consideration and approval at universities and community colleges. Academic Affairs also coordinates statewide articulation and federal and state grant programs. This Division also reviews and approves academic programs delivered at off-campus centers offered through the Tennessee Board of Regents and the University of Tennessee. As part of the responsibility, Academic Affairs maintains a database of academic degree programs (Academic Program Inventory) available in Tennessee and coordinates the Academic Common Market (ACM) program that allow students to attend out-of-state institutions at in-state rates for programs not available in Tennessee.
