The 2023 Tennessee Open Education Week events provided opportunities to learn about cutting edge work happening in TN, to listen to TN students, and to link to national conversations. Information about each session is provided below.

Time: March 6, 2023, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST (10:00 – 11:00 AM CST)
Presenters: Angela Hooser, Kim Godwin, Karen Reed – Middle Tennessee State University
Description:
This project is part of a multipronged approach to enhancing equity through the creation of an OER (including textbook and H5P activities) for an Introduction to Education course. This focus of this presentation will include the integration of varied intersectional identities as well as initial student feedback on the ways which they see themselves in the curriculum and profession of teaching. We will share practical tips for beginning to use OER in your courses and ways we plan to engage in research to study the results of our work.

Description: The Statewide Dual Credit History (since 1450) OER Textbook authors will describe the Statewide Dual Credit (SDC) program, authoring the textbook based on the SDC learning objectives and final challenge exam, and ensuring they incorporated the primary documents necessary for the exam.

Description:
John Rankin and Constanze Weise (faculty in the History Department at ETSU) share their experiences on creating World History Since 1500: An Open and Free Textbook for their course World History Since 1500 as part of a TBR grant.

Description: Moin Uddin, Craig Leendert, and Keith Johnson (faculty in the Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Surveying Department at ETSU) share their experiences on creating open and free videos and slides in their CADD/Engineering Graphics courses as part of a TBR grant.
