I was in active addiction for ten years. I dropped out of college early. I lost custody of all three of my children, one of which has since been adopted. I was homeless for nearly four years. I lost my driver’s license for more than six years. I contracted Hepatitis C (have since been cured). My sister died from her addiction when I was only five months into my sobriety. My children have lost their aunt, uncle and paternal grandmother to addiction in just the last two years.

After all my trials and tribulations of my addiction, I am now clean and celebrating three years of sobriety! These days I am working hard to help my community and those who are walking a path I previously was on.
