FILM LIBRARY INFORMATION

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Film Library is operated as a public service available to any individual or organization within the state of Tennessee. The films, tapes, and slides maintained by the Agency can be an educational and entertaining asset to any program or class. To assure efficient service and high quality materials, the user must agree to certain rules and guidelines.

Please read the following information carefully. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may cancel any future use by the delinquent user.

Ordering

  • All audio-visuals listed in the Film & Video Catalog may be borrowed from the TWRA without cost, except that of returning the materials.
  • No projector equipment is available.
  • Order films, topics, or slide sets by exact titles at least two weeks in advance of the showing date, excluding time for mail delivery. Seven days for delivery are allowed to ensure receipt of your films on the showing date you specify.
  • Indicate alternate titles and/or showing dates when possible.
  • Please provide your complete name and address, preferably typed or printed, including zip code.
  • No materials will be sent to an address without the name of the individual who is responsible for them.

Materials can be ordered through the TWRA Film Librarian, Brenda Williams, through mail correspondence (see below), in person at the TWRA Central Office, by calling 615-781-6544, or via e-mail.

Use Of Slide Lectures

The slide lectures are identified by the number of slides included in the set and the designation 2x2 after each title. These slides may be shown in any standard 35mm slide projector, such as a Kodak Carousel. Each slide is numbered to correspond with the written script provided. The written material provided is intended only as a guide for the presentation of a program and may or may not be used verbatim. Please handle each slide carefully by the edges of the mount in such a manner that the fingers do not touch the film. Also check the carrier slot of the projector to see that none of the slides remain after the showing and thus inadvertently fail to be returned to us on schedule.

Television & Commercial Use

All films and materials produced by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency are cleared for use by television. These films and even portions of the content may be shown by television, providing the station gives proper credit or shows credit titles on the prints. Replacement sections necessary to repair any damage, including sync or cue marks, will be charged to the station or the individual responsible. Films produced by other agencies, which are listed in the catalog but are not cleared for television, are indicated by the phrase "NOT CLEARED FOR TELEVISION."

Commercial use other than television, or showing for an admission fee of any Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency film, slide series, videotape, or portions thereof, and/or the deletion of credit titles, or otherwise changing or mutilating material or content is prohibited.

Using The Film & Video Catalog

All films, videos, and slide series are listed in the Film & Video Catalog. The viewing time, audience level, and subject matter is given for each production.
