TWRA FIRING RANGES

Region I

Natchez Trace State Park Firing Range
Contact Natchez Trace State Park office at (731) 968-3742.

Bartlett Hunter Education and Range Facility
Fee required. Located at 3200 Brother Blvd. Contact Sam Murrey at (901) 213-3124. Hours: Tuesday (12:00 PM - 9:00 PM), Wednesday & Thursday (11:00 AM - 9:00 PM), and Saturday (9:00 AM - 4:30 PM). Closed on Sunday, Monday, and Friday.

Indoor 25-yard range open to the public. No shotguns or center-fire rifles.
$8.50 (single lane), $12.50 for shared lane (max. of 2 people in shared lane). Cash or check only. No ammunition for sale.

All guns must be in a case before entering the facility. No holstered weapons, regardless of concealed weapon permit.

Directions: From I-40, take the Appling Road Exit. Proceed north on Appling Road and cross over Stage Road. Approximately 800 yards on the right side you will see a service road. There is a green Hunter Education sign on the light pole. The service road is right after the green sign.

Region II

Cheatham WMA Firing Range and Archery Range
Open 12:00 noon until dark every day. Fee required: Adult (age 16 or older - $5.50 for 2 hours), Youth (under 16 years of age - $1.50 for 2 hours). Must purchase the range entrance ticket from a TWRA license agent. No tickets available at the range. Use or possession of alcoholic beverages prohibited. Contact Randy Cromer (615) 792-4510.

Region III

Catoosa WMA - Peavine Checking Station and Genesis Checking Station. Open Apr. 1-Jan. 31, except during turkey hunts. Contact Jim Lane (931) 456-2479.

Prentice Cooper WMA - Rifles and handguns only. No shotguns. Open Thursdays through Mondays, daylight hours only. Closed during big game hunts. Contact Clint Smith. (423) 658-9201.

Region IV

John Sevier Hunter Education Center - Fee required. 2327 Rifle Range Road, Knoxville. (865) 594-6279 or John.SevierRange@state.tn.us . Pistol/rifle/archery ranges open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Shotgun ranges open Saturday and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (more information)

Daily or annual fees are required to use the facility.

Adults (16 and older) - $5.50 per 2 hrs. or $101.00/year.
Youths (15 and under) - $1.50 per 2 hrs. or $26.00/year.
