The TWRA offers several firing ranges and hunter education centers throughout the state for public use. In addition, archery ranges and Hunter Education classes are also available at some of the ranges as well, in addition to other services. Be sure to check with each range and center to see what is offered!

Indoor 25-yard range open to the public. No shotguns or center-fire rifles.
$8.50 (single lane), $12.50 for shared lane (max. of 2 people in shared lane). Cash or check only. No ammunition for sale.
All guns must be in a case before entering the facility. No holstered weapons, regardless of concealed weapon permit.
Directions: From I-40, take the Appling Road Exit. Proceed north on Appling Road and cross over Stage Road. Approximately 800 yards on the right side you will see a service road. There is a green Hunter Education sign on the light pole. The service road is right after the green sign.
Cheatham WMA Firing Range and Archery Range
Open 12:00 noon until dark every day.
Fee required: Adult (age 16 or older - $5.50 for 2 hours), Youth (under 16 years of age - $1.50 for 2 hours). Must purchase the range entrance ticket from a TWRA license agent. No tickets available at the range.

Yanahli WMA Firing Range
Hours of Operation:
The firing range is closed until Fall, 2011.
Fee required: Adult (age 16 or older - $5.50 for 2 hours), Youth (under 16 years of age - $1.50 for 2 hours). Permits are Type 48 (adults) and Type 49 (youth).
Directions: Located at 1780 New Lewisburg Highway. From Nashville, take I-65 to Exit 37. Drive toward Columbia. The range is on the east side of Fountain Creek and the south side of Highway 50 (Lewisburg Highway).
Catoosa WMA - Peavine Checking Station and Genesis Checking Station. Open Apr. 1-Jan. 31, except during turkey hunts. Contact Jim Lane (931) 456-2479.

John Sevier Hunter Education Center

JSHEC is closed the first full weekend of each month.
Pistol, rifle, and archery ranges are open on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00-6:00 p.m. All pistol, rifle, and archery range users need to check in before 5:00 p.m.
Shotgun ranges are open on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday shotgun range shooters need to check in before 5:00 p.m. Shotgun ranges are open on Tuesday from 6:30-10:00 p.m. Tuesday night shotgun shooters need to check in by 7:00 p.m. The range charges $6.00 for every 25 targets used in addition to the $5.50 daily facility fee.
There are two clubs located on-site that provide additional opportunities for archery and gun related programs: Smoky Mountain Archers and the Volunteer Rifle and Pistol Club.
Adults (16 and older) - $5.50 per 2 hrs. or $101.00/year
Youths (15 and under) - $1.50 per 2 hrs. or $26.00/year
Target distances on the rifle/pistol bench are 15 yards, 50 yards, and 100 yards.
