Shapefiles are GIS files used with GIS software, such as ArcView 3.x and ArcMap. A KML file can be imported directly into Google Earth. * All data is provided in a Zipped format and is projected to the Tennessee State Plane, NAD83 coordinate system. You will need to download the zipped file and extract the files using WinZIP or a similar product. You must have GIS software to view the shapefiles. To view the KML files in Google Earth, open Google Earth, click File, and Open, locating the file on your local drive. Please review the disclaimer before downloading the data.
