The following Internet sites offer a variety of information and resources related to foster care and independent living.

The Official Website of the State of Tennessee: includes links to many of the states departments including the Department of Children's Services.

The Official Website of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services: gives information relating to adoption, child protective services, foster care, treatment centers, and other general information.

Tennessee Foster Adoptive Care Association: includes the Tennessee Foster Parent Bill of Rights, quarterly newsletter, and local foster parent board information.

National Foster Parent Association: includes NFPA's mission, goals, and objectives, information about foster parenting, scholarships and awards for foster youth, and links to other important information.

Administration for Children and Families: gives information on current policies and laws, hot issues, and federal initiatives.

Casey Family Programs: Casey Family Programs’ mission is to provide and improve—and ultimately to prevent the need for—foster care. Offers a free life skills assessment for youth, resources about Casey projects, tools, stories, etc., and other information related to child welfare and well-being.

Connect for Kids: Better Policies for Kids

The University of Oklahoma: National Resource Center for Youth Services: Includes a listing of all state Independent Living Coordinators, offers trainings on child welfare issues, and includes resources and programs on youth development.

Child Welfare League of America: CWLA is an association of 1,000 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist over 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a wide range of services.
