Message from the Director of Interdependent Living
The Interdependent Living Program for the Department of Childrens Services is a broad-based spectrum of resources and resource linkages to help youth and young adults leaving foster care to become proficient in the necessary adult living skills to help them achieve real lifelong success. Our program utilizes federal grants and state funds to teach, mentor and motivate young persons. Because no two persons are alike, program decisions are made on a case by case basis to fully consider each young persons needs and abilities in making determinations regarding the need for specific services.
We are proud of our program and the young people who participate. Because we always think first of whom we serve, youth have an active voice in program design, policy making and practice standards. Our true vision is to see youth and young adults bridge the stigma of their pasts and build bright futures.
