Winery License

A winery license allows a facility to manufacture, bottle and sell alcoholic vinous beverages. A winery can also offer complimentary tastings of its wine at the winery, and may sell at retail in sealed containers for off-premises consumption, and sell by the drink for on-premise consumption.

A winery license is valid for one (1) year. You can apply for this license using RLPS.

Requirements

  • The application for a winery must be approved by the TABC commission at a regular monthly commission meeting. A completed application must be received in RLPS two (2) weeks prior to the next Commission Meeting in order to be considered for placement on the next Commission Agenda.
  • If the local government does not have building and safety codes for agricultural zoning, then the state's building and safety codes will apply, and an occupancy certificate of occupancy from a state inspector would be required.

Restrictions

  • Pursuant to the Fresh Start Act, no person having an interest in a Retail Package Store license may have been convicted of a crime which directly relates to the business of alcoholic beverage sales.
