TDCI Joins the BBB & Partners for Shred Event on “Secure Your ID Day”

Free Document Shredding to be Provided in Three Cities Across Tennessee

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance’s (TDCI) Division of Consumer Affairs will join the Better Business Bureau and its partners to provide free document shredding in Clarksville, Franklin, and Memphis on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

The events are being held to highlight “Secure Your ID Day,” an initiative to help consumers protect their personal and financial information from identity thieves by providing fast and easy disposal of paper documents that are no longer needed, like old bank statements, tax information and medical records. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide educational materials and tips to teach participants how to avoid scammers.
