Over 90 New Officers Graduate from TLETA on June 21

NASHVILLE – Over 90 newly certified officers are slated to graduate from Basic Law Enforcement School at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) on Friday, June 21, 2019. The graduation ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. (CT) at the Hermitage Hills Baptist Church (3475 Lebanon Pike) in Hermitage.

 “The cadets of Class 1863 have demonstrated they have the commitment it takes to serve their fellow Tennesseans,” said TLETA Director Brian Grisham. “In addition to completing their TLETA training, these cadets went above and beyond by donating 86 pints of blood during a blood drive with the American Red Cross. Their donations have the potential to save up to 258 lives. I commend Class 1863 for their dedication and wish them the best as they return to serve their communities and Tennessee.”

Bedford County Sheriff Austin Swing will be the guest speaker for the graduation.

TLETA’s Basic Law Enforcement School course provides technical and tactical expertise in addition to the ethical and professional standards needed to be a successful law enforcement officer. The newly certified officers who will graduate Thursday will join thousands of law enforcement officers who have studied at TLETA during its  more than 50-year existence.

The next Basic Law Enforcement School class begins July 7, 2019.
