| Description | The Basic School Resource Officer (SRO) training course will satisfy the requirements of Tenn. Code Ann. 49-6-4217, which states SROs “shall participate in forty (40) hours of basic training in school policing within twelve (12) months of assignment to a school.” Specific curriculum topics will be provided at a later date. This course will be POST approved. Attendees will be responsible for their own meals; however, lodging will be provided at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy at no cost to the attendee’s agency. This course is provided in partnership with the Tennessee School Resource Officers Association. Final enrollment in the course will be determined by demand and availability. Restrictions may be placed on the number of attendees from individual agencies if demand exceeds available slots/offerings. |
