Description

The course will provide law enforcement officers with training that meets the 40 hours of POST mandated in-service training with all the mandates.

There will be no food or ammo provided for the students.

Topics to be covered include:

1. To review the Ethical standards in Law Enforcement.
2. To review techniques for Policing in the 21st Century.
3. To review how to investigate child abuse and child sexual abuse cases.
4. To review techniques for dealing with people with mental illness.
5. To review proper Emergency Vehicle Operations.
6. To practice Emergency Vehicle Operations.
7. To give instruction in techniques that officers can use to control bleeding.
8. To review how law enforcement personnel handle public assemblies and riots.
9. To review how to properly write a report.
10. To review how to properly perform Standardized Field Sobriety test.
11. To place the officers in simulated shoot or don't shoot scenarios.
12. To review how to handle a handgun properly and safely.
13. To successfully complete a Accuracy Qualification course with 75% or better score.
14. To review laws and procedures for De-escalation.
15. To review when force can and cannot be used.
16. To review techniques officers can use to intervene when too much force is being used.
17. To review techniques to ensure Officer Wellness.
18. To review officer response to Active Shooter/Active Killer events.

Prerequisites POST certified law enforcement officer
Materials Students will bring 250 rounds of ammo for their duty handgun plus all their range safety equipment.
