Request Removal from Child Abuse Registry

On 12/13/17, the Joint Government Operations Committee specifically “Bifurcated” or “excised” the “Child Abuse Registry Review Committee” section of DCS’s Classification and Review of Reports of Child Abuse/Neglect and Due Process Procedures for Release of Child Abuse/Neglect Records Rules (0250-07-09-.12) and voted to not approve this section of DCS’s Rules.  What this means is DCS can no longer conduct the Child Abuse Registry Committee Reviews.  DCS will not be accepting applications and the application is no longer an available option to substantiated individuals.  If an individual has waived or exhausted all the appeals made available through the Department (e.g., formal file review and an Administrative Hearing) and remains substantiated, their name will remain on the Child Abuse Registry indefinitely.
