Vehicle and Asset Management

The Department of General Services Vehicle and Asset Management  Division is responsible for the acquisition, management, and disposal of state vehicles utilized by state departments, offices, and agencies.

Motor Vehicle Management was established in 1972 as a division within the Department of General Services.  It 2016, it underwent a formal merger and is now known as the Vehicles and Asset Management division. This section started with a small dispatch fleet consisting of twenty-five (25) vehicles. Throughout the years this section has continued to incorporate department and agency vehicles and equipment into its fleet. Today the fleet consists of over 7,000 units. The vehicles range from subcompact sedans to 50,000 pound tandem road tractors, and the equipment ranges from lawn mowers to bulldozers. Motor Vehicle Management is responsible for the acquisition, management, and disposal of state vehicles utilized by state departments, offices, and agencies. The division, now located at 6500 Centennial Blvd., Nashville, TN, establishes policies and procedures to affect the best procurement, maintenance and repair, operation and administration of the fleet consistent with safety and service.
