Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program

What is it?

The Yellow Ribbon Program was established by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2008, Section 582, which required the National Guard and Reserve Forces to establish a national combat veteran reintegration program.

What's in the program for me?

The Yellow Ribbon Program provides deployment cycle support for Servicemembers and their families by hosting 3 types of events- Pre-Deployment, During Deployment, and Reintegration (at the 30, 60, and 90 day marks post deployment). These events serve as a gateway to resources available to the Servicemembers and their families. These resources include but are not limited to: TriCare, Military One Source, Military Family Life Consultants, Personal Financial Counselor, Director of Psychological Health, Chaplain services, Transitional Assistance Advisor, Operation: Military Kids, Youth Programs, Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve, Education, Red Cross Support, Universities, etc.

What can I expect at an event?

Yellow Ribbon provides licensed childcare providers at all events. Yellow Ribbon may provide mileage reimbursement for up to one (1) authorized family members per Servicemember. Authorized family members or designated Individual entitled to reimbursements include: parents, spouses, and children. The authorized family member or designated individual must travel over 150 miles (one way), from Home of Record to event location, in order to qualify for reimbursement. These same authorized family members or designated individuals (up to 1) are also eligible for one night’s lodging reimbursements the day before the event. These reimbursements will be conducted after the event. A travel voucher (Form 1351-2) will be completed at the event. Please be sure to bring a routing and account information for reimbursements to be processed.
